Job Purpose

The Head of Fire Safety leads the organization’s comprehensive fire safety strategy, ensuring the highest levels of protection for employees, assets, and operations. This senior leadership role prioritizes alignment with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards as the primary framework for fire prevention, protection, and life safety, in support of operational and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations

  • Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
  • Ensures all employees adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times

General Job Functions

  • Leads the department’s strategic, operational, and financial management, including business planning, annual budgeting, and cost control for Fire & Safety Operations
  • Provides strong leadership and people management, ensuring effective staffing, recruitment, development, and performance management of a high-performing Fire & Safety team
  • Develops, implements, and oversees Fire & Safety policies, procedures, and operational frameworks covering administration, normal operations, and emergency operations
  • Conducts and oversees fire risk assessments, incident investigations, and pre-incident planning, and provides formal reports and recommendations to management
  • Oversees fire prevention and fire safety management programmes, ensuring compliance with local regulations, international standards (including NFPA), and NagaWorld policies and procedures
  • Directs all fire safety training activities, including training needs analysis, development of training plans, and execution of programmes
  • Acts as Incident Controller/Commander during fire emergencies to mitigate risks to life, property, the environment, and business continuity, and ensures regular review and updating of emergency management plans
  • Leads and oversees the design, review, installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems in accordance with NFPA standards, including the review of contractors’ technical submissions and coordination with internal stakeholders, authorities, consultants, contractors, and mutual aid partners
  • Any other tasks assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Fire Safety or a related discipline, with CFPS (NFPA) certification preferred; additional certifications such as NEBOSH or IFE membership are advantageous
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive fire safety experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large or multinational organization
  • Demonstrates strong strategic leadership, with the ability to balance regulatory compliance, risk management, and business objectives while leading high-performing teams
  • Exhibits excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing executive-level reports and board-level presentations
  • Applies a strong analytical and resilient approach, with proficiency in fire risk assessment and incident investigation methodologies, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Possesses solid technical knowledge of fire protection system design and the operation of firefighting and life safety equipment, including fire pumps and related systems, with a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • English language proficiency

Working Conditions

This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
