SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER
Job purpose
The Sustainability Manager develops and implements environmental initiatives, drives operational compliance and process improvements, manages environmental data, and engages stakeholders to support the Company’s environmental goals and sustainability objectives.
Duties and responsibilities
Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations
- Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
- Ensures all employees adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times
General Job Functions
- Develops environmental initiatives that work towards the achievement of the company’s environmental goals and targets
- Works with operational teams to integrate approved environmental initiatives into daily workflows and routines
- Identifies operational touchpoints where environmental practices need to be embedded
- Coordinates with department heads to assign clear ownership of tasks and responsibilities within existing operational structures
- Monitors whether environmental initiatives are being sustained operationally
- Develops case studies with demonstrated impact from environmental initiatives to support sustainability reporting
- Conducts site inspections to assess environmental conditions and opportunities to improve environmental performance
- Documents non-conformances or environmental incidents for escalation
- Ensures the affected departments take preventive or corrective action to prevent future reoccurrences of environmental incidents
- Reviews and improves operational departments’ SOPs to strengthen environmental compliance with best practices
- Ensures environmental practices are reflected in relevant checklists, work instructions or routine task lists in operations
- Supports the collection of environmental data from relevant departments
- Follows up with departments to resolve missing or inconsistent environmental data
- Performs data quality checks and flag anomalies in data
- Designs communication materials (e.g. posters) to influence and communicate good environmental practices to staff
- Facilitates the planning and running of staff engagement initiatives to promote environmental awareness
- Engages departments to align with the company’s environmental strategy, goals and targets
- Any other tasks assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent education required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental, EHS, or compliance-related work, with a strong passion for environmental sustainability
- Demonstrates leadership and stakeholder management skills in coordinating cross-functional environmental initiatives
- Demonstrates strong environmental data analysis, reporting, and data quality management skills
- Familiarity with Cambodian environmental regulations; ISO 14001 or ISO 50001 is an advantage
- Prior exposure to permit tracking, site inspections, or SOP documentation is an advantage
- Possesses strong communication, problem-solving, multitasking, follow-through, and attention -to-detail skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PPT, Word and Outlook
- English Language proficiency; Khmer Language proficiency is preferred
Working conditions
This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
