SENIOR DESIGN ARCHITECT
Job purpose
A Senior Design Architect has a role that combines creative design leadership with advance technical drafting and construction documentation expertise. This position acts as a bridge between high-level project conceptualization and the precise, actionable drawings required for construction, ensuring both aesthetic intent and technical feasibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations
- Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
- Ensures all employees adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times
General Job Functions
- Leads the design process from concept through schematic design and design development, translating client needs into functional and aesthetically pleasing solutions
- Manages design teams, supervises project timelines, and ensures the delivery of high-quality, innovative designs
- Produces and oversees complex construction documents, shop drawings, and detailed, code-compliant drawings
- Reviews project designs for constructability, ensuring details are practical, sustainable, and compliant with zoning and building codes
- Conducts site visits, reviews submittals, and resolves on-site issues to ensure compliance with the original design intent
- Oversees construction projects, coordinating with trades and contractors to mitigate risks and ensure timely, budget-compliant completion
- Coordinates with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as contractors, to resolve technical issues
- Meets with clients to understand requirements, presents design proposals, and maintains effective communication throughout the project with relevant departments and stakeholders
- Ensures all designs comply with building codes, zoning requirements, safety standards, and environmental guidelines
- Stays current with industry trends, sustainable design practices, and emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions
- Performs redlines, conducts quality control reviews, and mentors junior staff on design standards and detailing techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or equivalent qualification is required
- Licensed Architect is an added advantage
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in the architectural field, including exposure to leadership responsibilities
- Strong understanding of building materials, products, construction methods, and environmental regulations
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative, functional, and aesthetically appealing designs
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PPT, Word and Outlook
- English Language proficiency
Working Conditions
This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
