SOUS CHEF – PASTRY & BAKERY
Job purpose
Sous Chef ensures the Pastry & Bakery production team provides a consistent quality of Pastry & Bakery products in the area/shift under his control, as per corporate preset standards, in order to achieve the maximum level of guest satisfaction and organizational profitability in an atmosphere of teamwork and high employee morale.
Duties and responsibilities
Ensure Compliance to Rules and Regulations
- Ensures compliance with all NagaWorld’s standards or relevant industry standards during all aspects of work
- Ensures all employees adherence to NagaWorld’s Code of Conduct, Internal Rules, and Regulations at all times
General Job Functions
- Ensures food quality, hygiene, preparation, presentation, and guest service meet organizational standards
- Assists in menu planning, costing, operational budgeting, work scheduling, and efficient kitchen operations
- Controls food wastage and ensures the availability of quality ingredients, equipment, and machinery for smooth operations
- Ensures buffets and food displays are professionally presented and maintains required operational records and documentation
- Recommends improvements to systems and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and service standards
- Trains, coaches, and develops kitchen employees, including Chef de Parties and Commis, and supports performance, career development, and succession planning
- Maintains effective departmental communication and continuously develops professional and technical skills through relevant training
- Any other tasks assigned
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or equivalent education required
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in pastry and bakery operations, preferably in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PPT, Word and Outlook
- English Language proficiency
Working conditions
This position may require extended working hours and may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
